ToF Sensor
ToF VL53L5CX USB Module
Multizone time-of-flight sensor with a USB-C interface, built around the ST VL53L5CX — the family's first true multizone chip, returning a 4×4 or 8×8 depth map at distances up to 4 m. Each of the 64 zones ranges independently across a 63° diagonal field of view, with multi-target detection and a motion indicator per zone; histogram processing gives crosstalk immunity beyond 60 cm behind a cover glass. The depth map updates at 60 Hz in 4×4 mode and 15 Hz in 8×8 — a tiny depth camera for obstacle maps, gesture recognition and scene segmentation. Over USB-C the device shows up as a virtual COM port (CDC) and streams the depth map with a simple protocol — no I²C wiring, MCU code or drivers required. Works with anything that can open a serial port, from a PC to a Raspberry Pi or Jetson.
